Together, We All Can Just Work: Introducing ‘Just Work’ the Book and Just Work the Company!

I care so much about this book, and also about working with organizations to roll the ideas out. I really want to get it right, and that means I want to hear from you about what is helpful in Just Work, and also where I got things wrong.

Just Work offers a framework that helps us parse the different attitudes and behaviors that combine to create workplace injustice: bias, prejudice, bullying, discrimination, harassment, and physical violations. I explain the framework by telling stories from my own career, how I responded to the things that happened, and ways I might have responded differently, mistakes I made as a leader, and how I might have avoided making those mistakes. Read my Q&A >>

The goal is to fix the problem, not only to describe it. So I focus on identifying what we can do, now, to create the kind of organizations we all long for — places where we can do our best work unimpeded by the inefficiency and inhumanity of injustice. Pre-order ‘Just Work’

Just Work

One thing I learned after Radical Candor came out: no matter how much people like a book (and I really hope you’ll love this one), reading a book is rarely enough to change behavior. But when we supplement the book with talks, workshops, coaching, podcasts, and online content the way we have with Radical Candor the company, we really can help folks to turn ideas into realities.

That is why I’m so thrilled that Trier Bryant has agreed to be the CEO of Just Work, the company I am co-founding with her to put the ideas in the book into practice. Trier was an officer in the US Air Force, and a leader at Goldman Sachs, Twitter, and Astra. She also founded a DE&I consulting firm Pathfinder. She knows how to get shit done, and to help others get it done! I couldn’t be more honored to partner with her.
