Radical Candor happens at the intersection of Care Personally and Challenge Directly. On this mini-episode of the Radical Candor podcast, Kim tells the "Um Story," which outlines exactly what we mean when we say Care Personally and Challenge Directly. Kim explains why the feedback she received from her boss was so effective and led to even more success.
Listen to the episode:
The conversation Kim had with her boss was extremely effective on two counts. First, it made her want to solve the problem her boss made her aware of immediately.
Second, it made Kim appreciate her boss and it inspired Kim to give better guidance to her own team.
"The way she gave praise and criticism got me thinking about how to teach other people how to adopt this style of management," Kim Says. "All this from a two-minute encounter."
